Cropten guide
Cropten is TOEM 2's quiet farmland — the region the developer previewed three weeks before launch with chickens, cloth and jam. It is the calmest of the three named areas, and the one most likely to reward slow walking and a full camera roll.
What Cropten is
A quiet farmland with plenty of delights to discover, in the official preview's words — then it got specific: spend time hanging out with the chickens, take part in a cloth cutting workshop, and make homemade jam from hand-picked fruit. Farmland sounds like a photo desert until you get there; in practice the small routines (feeding, cutting, picking) are exactly where the photo requests live.
What to do in Cropten
- Meet the chickens first. They are not scenery — several of them have their own names, routes and, eventually, requests. The chicken yard is also where the region teaches its rhythm: watch, approach, shoot.
- Sit through the cloth cutting workshop. It is a demonstration, and like most demonstrations it becomes a photo task the moment you are paying attention to the hands rather than the cloth.
- Pick fruit before you need to. Jam-making takes what you have gathered, and hand-picked fruit comes from specific bushes rather than general wandering. If a recipe stalls, you have simply not met the right bush yet.
- Photograph the farm equipment in daylight. Interiors elsewhere in the game hide detail; Cropten does the opposite — its tools and stalls are designed to read best in open light.

Cropten FAQ
Is Cropten mandatory? It is one of the trip's three named regions; the trip itself is the spine of the game. Whether you linger is up to you — the region is built for lingering.
Does anything special start here? The farm teaches gathering-based errands — fruit for jam being the flagship. Expect the mechanic to echo in later regions.
What if a chicken will not hold still? You do not need it to. Shoot the bird where it lands; the shot counts from the moment it is the subject, motion and all.
