TOEM 2 Guide

Deltburg guide

Deltburg is the town TOEM 2's free demo covered, and it returns in the full game as the first dense taste of what the sequel is doing: a compact town with more people, more alleys, and more requests per square metre than the demo had room to show.

What Deltburg is

A quaint town with a plumbing problem. The official preview named the beats directly — check out the aquarium, sample the smells of the city, attend a comedy show, and don't think too hard about what the people are putting down their sewers. The demo's patch notes add a location players will remember: the Fountain Maintenance room, whose pipes were made more readable in a patch because so many of us walked past the obvious.

The demo's Deltburg, and what changes at launch

The June demo was deliberately the opening slice: arrive, meet townspeople, get your first photo requests, and wander the sewers before the game politely closes the curtain. The launch build keeps the town and its cast, but two things change visibly:

  • The demo taught the frame; the launch build fills it. More characters, more requests, and questlines that continue into the other regions.
  • Old demo photos do not transfer. No stamps or camera roll carry over — the demo's patch notes were always clear that it was its own little universe.

If you played the demo, familiar beats still resolve slightly differently, and NPCs who said one line in June often have follow-ups now.

What to aim for while you are here

Work through the town the way its residents hand things to you — walk the whole map once before deciding anything is missing, and photograph the aquarium thoroughly the first time you visit; it is a reliable early stamp source.

Deltburg FAQ

Is Deltburg the whole game? No — it is the first of three named regions. Cropten's farmland and Taletorp's village sit further along the trip.

Do I have to replay the demo's content in the full game? The launch build opens with the same town, but the requests are re-framed rather than copy-pasted; there is new material even in the opening hour.

Did the demo's story carry into the full game? The funny, anxious, slightly damp town is all still there. What expands is what the people need from you.
