TOEM 2 Guide

TOEM 2 FAQ

The launch-week questions players are actually asking — unlock times, platforms, price, demo carry-over, controls — answered from the public record, without speculation.

Release and unlock

When does TOEM 2 unlock?

September 29, 2026, at 9:00 am EDT. In the developer's own timezone table: 6:00 am PDT · 2:00 pm BST · 3:00 pm UTC+2 · 9:00 pm UTC+8.

What if my region is not listed? The developer's announcement named the major zones; everybody else can convert from EDT. Unlocks are simultaneous, not rolling.

Has the release date ever moved? Once. TOEM 2 was announced for summer 2026, then dated officially to September 29 with a note that the game "needed a few bits of extra detail and polish."

Platforms and editions

PlatformStatusNotes

Nintendo Switch 2Launch windowA Switch 2 review unit was already in critics' hands ahead of launch
PlayStation 5Launch windowConfirmed alongside the Switch 2 date announce

Is there a deluxe edition or DLC? Nothing has been announced beyond the base game and its soundtrack, which releases for streaming and purchase at launch.

Is it single-player only? Yes — the store lists Single-player only. No co-op, no multiplayer.

Steam Deck? Officially Verified. The 9:00 pm UTC+8 unlock applies to the Steam build regardless of hardware.

Price

The US store page did not publish a price ahead of launch; the final price appears at unlock. For scale, the first TOEM launched at $19.99 in 2021 and still sells at that list price — expect the sequel in a comparable band rather than at a premium. This line gets updated with the real number the moment the store shows one.

Demo questions

Does demo progress carry over to the full game? No. The demo is a standalone slice: no saves, no stamps, no camera roll transfer. Your knowledge of Deltburg's streets is the only thing that crosses the border.

Is the demo still available? Yes, it remains free on its own Steam page.

Is the demo content in the full game? The town is, and it is worth revisiting — the launch build re-frames the demo's opening rather than copy-pasting it.

Controls and languages

Keyboard/mouse or controller? Both are supported, on every platform. The one thing to set up early is camera rotation: invert handling is split into separate overworld and photo mode options, and photo mode wants the slower rotation speed.

Which languages are supported? Twelve, per the store: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Swedish, Traditional Chinese and Ukrainian. Audio language options follow the store listing.

About the game

Do I need to play the first TOEM? No. TOEM 2 is a standalone trip with its own regions and cast. Series veterans just recognise the rhythm sooner.

How long is it? The developer has not published a playtime, and we do not invent numbers. The series' pace is unhurried; plan around how much you enjoy walking, not around a clock.

Where does the trip go? Three named regions: Deltburg (the demo town), Cropten (farmland) and Taletorp (village of crafts).
